The Western Tiers Bedroll by Kohutt is inspired by the cowboy bedrolls of the American West and re-imagined with a touch of Tasmania and the soul of the traditional Australian swag.
Handcrafted in Tasmania from 100% Australian-made waxed oilskin waterproofed canvas or dry waterproofed canvas, the Western Tiers Bedroll is designed as a durable, breathable and compact sleeping system for the field.
Designed for motorcyclists, hunters, adventurers, bushcrafters and minimalists, the Western Tiers Bedroll is built for those who value simplicity, durability and compactness. Our intention is to create a bedroll that runs smaller than the large traditional swags of today while remaining functional and robust in the field.

The Western Tiers Bedroll is designed to work with the sleeping mat of your choice. Sleeping mats are highly personal and influence comfort, weight and pack size. Many users pair the bedroll with their existing inflatable or foam mat.
Our Southern Field Futon is available as an optional mat designed to pair perfectly with the Western Tiers Bedroll, while also functioning as a standalone fireside camp mat or a versatile mat for use in vehicles, campers, tents or around camp.

Canvas Variants
Waxed Oilskin Canvas - traditional oilskin waterproofed cotton canvas. Oily to the touch and extremely weather resistant. Our oilskin is produced from the final remaining bolts of Australian-made oilskin canvas, as domestic oilskin manufacturing ceased in 2024.
Dry Waterproofed Canvas - heavyweight polycotton blended canvas treated with a dry waterproofing agent. Slightly heavier and stiffer than the oilskin but highly durable.
Please note oilskin colours vary from roll to roll, with some appearing darker or lighter than others. This variation is a natural characteristic of the material.
